Camp LeJeune toxic water claims continue to pile up at the Navy, with the total number recently passing the 20,000 mark.
The lawyers at Alex Davis Law are proud to represent numerous veterans and their families who spent time at the military base between 1953 and 1987. Now, some of those soldiers are suffering from conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, kidney and bladder cancer, and leukemia.
The military acknowledges that water contamination at Camp Lejeune may be responsible for some of these injuries. Congress passed a law in August 2022 called the PACT Act, which sets up a process for veterans to be compensated.
Here are some of the injuries claimed by former Camp Lejeune residents:
Parkinson disease
Kidney cancer
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma
Leukemia (all types)
Liver cancer
Bladder cancer
Multiple myeloma
Kidney disease (end-stage renal disease)
Renal Toxicity
Systemic sclerosis / scleroderma
Cardiac birth defects
Esophageal Cancer
Male breast cancer
Lung Cancer
Miscarriage
Hepatic Steatosis (Fatty Liver Disease)
Female infertility
Neurobehavioral effects
Delayed reaction times
Problems with memory
Problems with attention or concentration
Problems with motor function (e.g., hand tremor, postural sway)
It is important to note that the military does not agree that all of these injuries are connected to Camp Lejeune water contamination. If a claim is submitted to the Navy and denied, the remedy is to file a lawsuit in North Carolina federal court.
