A group of lawsuits against Indivior, the maker of Suboxone film strips, is moving forward in Ohio federal court on behalf of injured patients with major dental injuries.
The lawsuits are now part of a consolidated proceeding called MDL 3092, in front of Judge Philip Calabrese. This is not a class action lawsuit. Instead, the cases are being litigated together temporarily until they are ready for trial. There are currently more than 50 such lawsuits, including multiple cases where the plaintiffs are represented by Alex Davis Law Office.
Suboxone label update in 2022
Lawsuits against Indivior claim the company knew about tooth decay risks for years, but didn’t update the label until June 2022 after the FDA’s warnings. MDL stands for Multidistrict Litigation, a tool that allows the cases to be grouped together for the sake of efficiency. There are no Suboxone settlements yet, because the cases are just now moving forward. It is not uncommon for a mass tort case like this to last many months or even years.
