You may have heard or seen the term “Ozempic Face” circulating around social media recently. The term is used to describe noticeable changes in facial features that can occur in people who have used GLP-1 medications (such as Ozempic, Mounjaro, or Wegovy) to help them lose weight. These changes can be alarming to those who experience them. The legal team at Alex Davis Law is currently accepting new Ozempic injury cases.
Changes often seen in “Ozempic Face” can include:
- Sunken eyes
- More or more noticeable wrinkles
- New or more noticeable hollowed areas on the face
- Differences is lip, cheek, and chin size
- Skin that hangs below the jawline (jowls)
Any time a person loses a significant amount of weight, they can expect to see changes in their facial features due to the loss of fat under the skin that supported them, however, the speed with which people are losing weight can exaggerate these changes. If you are experiencing Ozempic face, there are some steps you can take to help mitigate these changes:
- Ensuring there is enough protein in your diet
- Drinking plenty of water (at least 1-2 liters a day)
- Altering your medication dosage (speak with your doctor)
- Stopping your medication (speak with your doctor) and implementing lifestyle changes to achieve your desired weight and/or health goals
- Using fillers or injectables in the affected areas
Alex Davis Law already represents consumers with injuries who took Ozempic, Mounjaro, and Wegovy. To qualify for a lawsuit, you must be no more than 72 years old and have taken one of the three drugs within 30 days of your injury. The main injury claims in the lawsuits are for a failure to warn about the dangers of gastroparesis, gastric obstruction, stomach paralysis, and blindness.
