Settlement to send $1.1 billion to injured CPAP victims
Philips has reached a $1.1 billion dollar agreement to settle claims from about 58,000 consumers stemming from its 2021 recall of home CPAP ventilators and sleep apnea machines. The devices were sold between 2008 and 2021 under the Philips Respironics brand. The terms of the agreement have not been finalized, and settlement payments are not expected to begin until next year.
